Q. I already have a CCTV system – can it use my existing cameras?

No. CCTV cameras do not have sufficient definition for accurate recognition – and the system is only designed to watch entry points – not to have a store overview, like your CCTV. Think of this as a complementary system to your CCTV.

Q. Is installation difficult? Will it be a lot of work?

No. We complete the install and are only working in small areas of the premises at a time – we can even work outside your normal store or business hours.

Q. Will it put off customers from coming into the store? Will staff and customers fear for their privacy?

The system is designed to make the environment safer for customers – not to invade their privacy.  It is only identifying people that have been flagged as a security risk. It isn’t identifying normal customers going about their shopping. In GDPR terms, this is a benefit and we will help you to understand your processing obligations. Customers and staff are already aware of motorway cameras and ANPR (Automotive Number Plate Recognition) in petrol stations. Emphasising that this is about their comfort and security and will help staff and clients to understand, and embrace, the reasoning.

Q. Does this mean I should get rid of site security staff?

The Face Recognition Company system is designed to be a member of the team. Physical security will still deploy to support incidents, however the system could, for example, support the door observation role – and with much greater accuracy and impact in recognising flagged intruders.  This can support stores with greater flexibility in security staff deployment, increasing efficiency – and, of course, the system is constantly active, does not take leave or breaks and provides consistent information and feedback.

Q. Is there a minimum size store needed?

Absolutely not. Security is an issue for everyone. Our systems start at an accessible cost and we believe that, considered over a few years, this is a value-added investment for any store – whatever size – that wants to protect itself from repeat offenders.  ROI can be anticipated within as little as 12 months for stores in high loss areas with persistent issues.

Q. Do I have to pay monthly fees?

No. Your quoted installation cost is for the whole working system. However, there is a low cost annual update and maintenance package to ensure the system is working at optimum levels and the software is updated.
